a small encouragement for your Monday

My favorite of all the psalms is Psalm 91. It’s also my mom’s favorite, and she instilled a love for it in me from a very early age. When I was young and I would have a bad dream, I would wake up and go straight to get my Bible and read Psalm 91 over and over until I fell asleep again.
If you aren’t familiar with this passage, I highly encourage looking into it. It talks about living in God’s blessing and protection. It reassures us of the rest that we can find in His presence.

Today I was reminded of Psalm 91. I felt verse 4 tugging at my heartstrings as I sat and ate my lunch. I realized that, whether I’m conscious of it or not, I find comfort day in and day out in knowing that I am covered by God’s wings. He is my refuge. I can honestly look at my life (especially the past year) and see specifically where God has protected me and shielded me from all that the devil, this world, and this life have thrown at me.
As I took a moment to thank Jesus for His constant defense on my behalf, I decided I would write this post to remind others of the lifestyle of rest and blessing and the peace that comes with knowing you are totally safe at all times – no matter what. Maybe you find yourself worrying too often. Maybe you don’t always feel so safe. Maybe it’s hard for you to put your complete trust in God. I want to encourage you to read Psalm 91. God will rescue and protect you. He will be there to comfort you, deliver you from danger, honor you, and satisfy you with long life and ultimately salvation. He loves you, and all you have to do is to love Him back.

I hope this was encouraging to someone, even if it’s only one person. That’s one more person who knows they are safe in Jesus.

I love you all, and as always…

Stay sweet,
Caroline
